Course Policies
-
All students must send me an e-mail letting me know that they are registered
for this class - the return address will be placed on my e-mail list for
the class. Announcements will be made in class or by e-mail.
If you do not send your e-mail, you may not receive some announcements.
-
Access to Matlab is a requirement for this course.
-
Course grades will be assigned on a curve, though in general achieving
a 90% or higher should earn a least an A- and 80% of higher should earn
at least a B-. No incompletes will be given except as specified by
UM policy.
-
If you find small mistakes in the grading, I will try to fix those immediately.
For a substantial regrading of you homeworks or exams, I may request that
you submit your entire assignment/exam for regrading.
-
I will discard your lowest homework grade. I recommend that you complete
all assignments, but this gives you some flexibility if you need to travel,
become ill, etc.
-
All homework sets are due at the end of class on the due date, though in
general, I will allow a grace period until 8 am the next morning.
You should push the complete assignment under the door at GG Brown 3412
so that it is there by 8 am. Beyond this grace period, absolutely
no late assignments will be accepted.
-
Homework policies:
-
You should attempt to do all homework problems yourself.
-
Only after you have made an attempt to solve the problem on your own may
you discuss it with your classmates.
-
After this, you must still write up your own solutions.
-
Actual copying of matlab code, etc. is strictly forbidden.
-
For computer (e.g. matlab) assignment, you should hand in the all .m files
as well as plots and figures.
-
You are require to abide by the UM Engineering Honor Code as described
in http://honor.personal.engin.umich.edu/.
Exams will not be graded without a signed honor code statement.
