Research Overview:

Professor Winick has several research projects in his labroatory in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Building (Room 1327) on North Campus. Most of these activities involve the design, fabrication and characterization of integrated optical devices in glass and crystal hosts. Novel lasers, filters and parametric devices are designed and constructed. Graduate students are involved in all phases of this research.

Professor Winick also performs research in communications and information theory. His most recent work has been on low density parity check codes and iterative decoding.
