During the past 25 years professional activities in the area of electromagnetic compatibility have grown feverishly in the USA, primarily due to the governmental regulations prohibiting the sale in the USA of certain digital electronic devices unless they have been tested and found not to exceed certain limits on their radiated and conducted emissions. With the proliferation and extensive use of digital devices in a variety of applications, the professional demand is strong at all levels for EE graduates with EMC background. The talk gives a quick overview of EMC.
