RESEARCH FACILITIES

Experimental facilities in the EECS building occupy 4500 sq. feet and include:
  • Large 60 ft. Long Anechoic Chamber for Antenna Pattern, Scattering and Radar System Evaluations from L band to Millimeter Wave Frequencies
  • Small 10 ft. Antenna Measurement Chamber with a Dedicated 10-100GHz Measurement System
  • Microwave to TeraHertz Device Fabrication Facilities
  • Extensive Microwave and Millimeter-Wave Fabrication and Measurement Equipment Covering 1-500GHz and with Some Particular Equipment Extending to 3 THz.
  • Several Network Analyzers extending till 110GHz HP8510B and HP8720B) Complemented with Spectrum Analyzers, Sources, Sweepers, Synthesizers, Detectors, Power Meters, Waveguide Components, etc.
  • Truck-Mounted Radars and Radiometers
  • Computer-Controlled Milling Machine
  • Electromagnetic Compatability and Interference Measurement Equipment
  • Access to Solid State Electronics Lab clean room facility for Si and GaAs circuit fabrication
  • Radar Image Processing Facility
  • Extensive Computational Facilities and Accessibility to State-of-Art Graphics and Simulation Tools Such as Mentor Graphics for Integrated Circuit Analysis, SDRC I-DEAS , PATRAN for gridding, and HP-LIBRA, HFSS, MOMENTUM and IE3D (among others) for Modeling and Simulation; Graduate students are generally equipped with their own desktop workstation
  • Access to Spaceflight Hardware Fabrication Facility
  • Access to Major Plasma Electrodynamics Chamber Facility
  • Access to Student Space Systems Fabrication Lab
