applications Ron Kurtz was born and raised in California. He graduated from Harvard College
in 1985 with a degree in biochemistry and returned to California to go to
medical school at UC San Diego (graduated 1990). After completing an internship
in Internal Medicine in New York City (1990-91), followed by a residency in
Ophthalmology at University of Michigan (1991-94). Here he became involved in
research regarding medical applications of ultrafast laser technology through
collaboration with CUOS. He left for one year (94-95) to do a fellowship in
retinal surgery at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He returned to Ann
Arbor to join Medical School Faculty Practice at the Kellogg Eye Center where he
continues ultrafast laser research.
