Corrections to the "Introduction to Signals Notes" If you find anything else needing corrections, please email Prof. Neuhoff at neuhoff@eecs.umich.edu. p. 5: In the equation defining RMS(x): "dts" should be replaced by "dt" p. 9: In the last two summations on the page, the upper limit of the sum should be "M", not "N". p. 16: Top of the page. Heading A should read "Elementary operations of one signal" p. 22: First line of second paragraph: "smoothing the r(t)" should be "smoothing the signal r(t)" "more like s(t) than r(t)" should be "more like s(t) than does r(t)" new as of 1/18/02 p. 6: near the bottom. the relationship between MS(x), sigma(x) and M(x) should be MS(x) = sigma^2 (x) + M^2 (x) The "square" was missing from M(x). p. 10, last line: The square is missing from M(x) in two places. new as of 1/25/02 p. 20, second paragraph, the first line after the displayed equation. replace "r(t)" with "s(t)" That is, it should say "where s(t) is the component that interests us ..." new as of 2/11/02 p. 18, there is an error in the plotting of y(t). See the correction posted on 2/11/02.
