IMPORTANT MESSAGES

0. Grades are available here for your perusal. Please report any inconsistencies to Prof. Hero (sec 001) or Prof. Stark (sec. 002).

1. The final on Dec. 20 has been moved to Central Campus: 1800 Chem, from 8:00-10:00AM. Two alternate makeup final exams have been scheduled for Dec. 15 from 4-6 PM in EECS 3437, Dec. 18 from 8-10AM in 1010 DOW, and in 1009 FXB from 10:30-12:30AM on Dec. 22. You need to have permission from Prof. Hero or Prof. Stark to sign up for either of these exams. Recall that the final is a multiple choice exam and you are allowed one sheet (both sides) of a cheat sheet.

2. Midterm 2 exam solutions are available below. Pick up your exam in lab.

3. Hwk 10 solutions are now available below in addition to sample final exams.

4. Graded Homeworks can be picked up in your lab. Below you will find .pdf links for downloading future homeworks.

5. See the interesting link to John Hopkins for an interactive introduction to signals and systems (linearity, time invariance, fourier series, etc).

6. For students who have dropped EECS210 and want to be removed from the mailing list they need to send email to eecs210-request@eecs.umich.edu with 'unsubscribe' in the subject field.

e-mail mailing lists:
Important course announcements will be made via the class e-mail mailing list. It is essential that you enroll in this class list by sending e-mail as follows:
Section 1 and 2: eecs210-request@eecs.umich.edu, subject - subscribe
A test e-mail will be sent on 9/15. If you do not receive it, please contact your instructor.
Course Web Page:
Continuously updated... It is at http://www.eecs.umich.edu/course/eecs210. Most handouts (e.g., homework and solutions), announcements, and corrections will be archived here.

Laboratories:

Lab lectures and lab sessions will occur in alternate weeks beginning with a lab lecture during your lab period on the week of Sept. 13. Students must register for a specific lab section, and attendance is required at its specific session. See the Laboratory Manual for lab policies, especially those on page 2, "Any student missing a lab (not present in the lab) with no proper or reasonable excuse will get a "0" grade on that specific lab and will have his/her letter grade reduced by a full letter (for example, A- to B-). Any student missing two labs with no proper excuse will automatically get a failing grade (F) on the entire course."

Lab Schedule: .pdf

Homework:

12 weekly homework problem sets will be assigned during the semester, each due on a week from the date assigned and to be handed in at class. The lowest homework score will be dropped in computing your grade. While collaboration on homeworks is permitted, the writeup of each homework must be done on your own. Homework must be stapled. Please remember to include your name and section number clearly on each page and to number the pages. If you want to refer to your homework during the week following the due date you should retain a photocopy.

Late Homework:

Late homework assignments will not be accepted.
Exams:
3 closed book exams will be given during the semester outside of class period. There will be review sessions before each of these exams. The times and dates of these exams are listed below. No additional makeup exams will be administered. Note that the final exam dates and times for Sections 001 and 002 have been merged: there will be a common exam on Dec. 20. YOU NEED CONTACT YOUR INSTRUCTOR TO GET PERMISSION TO TAKE ANY MAKEUP EXAMS

Honor code:

The College of Engineering honor code applies to all homework, labs and exams.
  • Honor Code.
  • Collaboration:
The lab policy is stated on page 2 of the lab manual. The following policy applies to homework:

All homework assignments are to be completed on your own. You are encouraged to consult with other students during conceptualization of a solution, but all written work, whether in scrap or final form, is to be generated by you working alone. Programs written for the homework are not to be shared. You are also not allowed to use, or in any way derive advantage from, the existence of solutions prepared in prior years. Violation of this policy is an honor code violation. If you have questions about this policy, please do not hesitate to contact an instructor.

    Late for lecture:
Please be on time. Late arrivals disturb the lecturer and the students who are already seated. If you arrive late, please be quiet when entering.  Late arrivals cannot be allowed to detract from the learning environment. If they become a problem, late arriving students will not be allowed to enter the lecture hall.
