File transfer from Mac to IFS(for ITD only)
This document should help you in transferring files between unix and the Mac
environment for ITD machines. Note: This document pertains to ITD only -- not
for CAEN; for CAEN, the procedure may be different.
- Print out this document.
This is so you can have the instructions next to you for your convenience.
- Put the Mac file that you want to transfer to IFS, on the
Mac desktop.
Open this file.
- Click on the apple icon on the top left corner.
- Click on `Chooser'.
- Click on `appleshare'.
- Click on the option on the right which mentions `IFS'.
Then click on `OK'. This will make a folder appear on screen which
corresponds to your IFS space. Drag the file to where you want to put it
in this folder.
File transfer from IFS to Mac(for ITD only)
- Follow the same procedure as above, but drag the
file from your AFS folder to the desktop instead of from the desktop
to the folder.
File transfer from Wintel to IFS and vice versa (for ITD only)
This pertains to transferring files between unix and the PC
(Wintel) environment *only* for ITD machines. For CAEN machines, the
procedure may be different.
For the ITD Wintel machines, the IFS space is available as
the H: drive. If you wish to save your work on IFS, you need to save
it on the H: drive. Similarly, for transferring a file from IFS to
the WIntel box, when you are sitting at the Wintel box, open the
H: drive and drag it to the desktop.
