EECS 373 Final Project

By:  John Buszek and Eric Steinke

Project Description:

The purpose of this project was to determine if we could control two devices separately using two infrared receivers and two infrared transmitters at different carrier frequencies.  The plan was to interface the MPC823 to two analog transmission circuits and excite the circuits with different carrier frequencies so each IR receiver could be controlled separately.

Components:

There were three main components in our project:

·        Analog Circuitry
Transmission circuits

Receiving circuits

·        Hardware

MPC823

FPGA

·        Software

C program that interfaced UART commands to the program

ISR that handled transmissions

Most Difficult Issues:

·        Making the 57 KHz receiver not respond to other carrier frequencies
