NES Controller

NES Controller

A standard NES controller was used to control player 1's car. The left and right D-pad buttons controlled the car's motion and the start button could be used to start the game and pause it.

Potentiometer

The Knob Controller The Knob Controller Circuit

A potentiometer was used to control player 2's car. A knob was attached to the potentiometer to make it easier to control the resistance. When the knob was in the center position, player 2's car would move straight. When the knob was turned to the left or the right, the car would begin to move in that direction. The speed of the movement depended on the amount the knob was turned.
