JURGEN JAKUMEIT


Jurgen Jakumeit was born in 1965 in Cologne, West Germany. He studied Physics at the Universität zu Köln and obtained his B.Sc. degree in 1989. Since 1989 he has been working towards his Ph.D., researching electron interference effects in semiconductors, under the direction of Professor Nimtz at the Universität zu Köln. He came to the University of Michigan in November 1990 and spent eight months studying double-quantum-well devices and analyzing the quantum state transfer. In June 1991 he returned to Cologne where he completed his Ph.D. in 1994.
