Kun Wang was born in Kunming, China. He received the B.S.E.E. degree from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of Chinga, Chengdu, China, in 1982.
From 1982 to 1991, he worked on the research and fabrication of Silicon Intensified Target Tube and Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Displays at the Nanjing Institute of Electronic Devices, Nanjing, China. From 1991 to 1992, he was a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at Michigan Technological University, working on Nuclear Magnetic Resonance.
Since 1992, he has been a Research Assistant with the Center for High Frequency Microelectronics and the Solid State Electronics Laboratory at the University of Michigan. He has been working on the simulation of GaN growth, MOVPE growth and characterization of III-V materials.
