XIN ZHU

Xin graduated from Xi'an Middle School in 1993. He received his BS degree in physics from the Department of Physics, Peking University (Beijing University), China in 1997. After receiving MS degrees in both Electrical Engineering and Physics at the Pennsylvania State University (University Park, PA),  Xin became a Ph.D. student at the Departement of EECS, the University of Michigan. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate and works for Prof. Pavlidis in the area of high-speed devices and integrated circuits using compound semiconductors.

Current Research Projects:

• InP-based Sb-containing DHBTs (Double Heterojunction Bipolar Transistor) for high frequency and high power microwave applications.
• GaN on silicon: Fabrication and modeling of HEMT devices.
• Hybrid microwave oscillator design and fabrication using high-power GaN devices.
• Frequency-stabilized millimeter wave oscillator using micromachined silicon cavity.
