ECE Faculty: ISCS Awards

The Quantum Device Award was established in 2000 by Fujitsu Quantum Devices, Ltd. and presented at the International Symposium on Compound Semiconductors (ISCS). The Award honors pioneering contributions to the field of compound semiconductor devices and quantum nanostructure devices which have made a major impact in the past two decades.

The Welker Award was established in 1976 by Siemens AG, Munich in honor of the foremost pioneer in III-V compound semiconductor development, Heinrich Welker. Recipients are selected by the International Symposium on Compound Semiconductors Award Committee for outstanding research in the area of III-V compound semiconductors.

Quantum Device Award (2003)
For pioneering contributions to molecular beam epitaxy and applications of III-V heterostructure electronic and optoelectronic devices.

Welker Award (2010)
For his pioneering work on III-V based photonic devices.
