|
The international Colorado Cleantech Venture Challenge is sponsored by the Robert H. and Beverly A. Deming Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Colorado at Boulder's Leeds School of Business. Student teams submit business plans that demonstrate venture-grade, for-profit business models, practices, and/or technologies with high growth potential; and provide innovative solutions, services or products in the cleantech sector that reduce environmental impacts or improve ecological sustainability.
First Place ($15,000 Prize), 2008
Team Potentia
ECE Team Members: Ruba Borno and Tzeno Galchev (EE graduate students) developed a business plan for energy-scavenging battery replacement technology for wireless sensors. These sensors would monitor the environmental conditions and adjust for optimal performance.
This plan also won the U-M Quick Pitch Competition and the Michigan Business Challenge.
