Transportation Information

New this year: No bus needed!

The suggested hotels are all within an easy walk of the workshop, restaurants, coffee, and other places of interest.

This map shows the downtown/campus area for AA.

Parking

Parking on central campus can be problematic. There is a visitor garage (for pay) on S. Forest/Church street, a block south of the East Hall. There is also on-street parking.

Coordinating with other participants

We have a Google doc where you can coordinate with other workshop participants to share rides to/from the airport and to share hotel rooms.

Transportation to/from Detroit Metro-Wayne Airport (DTW)

The closest airport is DTW, a major Delta hub.

Taxis and "towncars" wait at DTW. The fare is approximately $50 to $60.

The Air Ride bus runs between DTW and the Blake transit center in downtown Ann Arbor. Blake is about 1/2 mile from the suggested hotels and local bus service is available. Some of the Air Ride trips stop at "Central Campus Transit Center," known locally as CC Little, which is a few hundred meters from the Michigan League and close to other hotels.

Another transportation option is Metro Eddie's shuttle, which is less expensive than taxies but may carry other passengers.
