Srinath Sridhar Awarded Rackham International Student Fellowship

Srinath Sridhar 

Srinath Sridhar, a second year master's student in the Electrical Engineering:Systems program, was awarded a Rackham International Student Fellowship for 2011-12. Mr. Sridhar is working with Prof. Vineet Kamat, a professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Srinath's research focuses on using computer vision techniques such as markerless camera tracking for creating augmented reality (AR) environments. AR is an emerging technology that augments real scenes with computer generated scenes. AR has applications in various domains including the interactive visualization of construction operations.

He is currently a research intern at the Honda Research Institute USA, Inc. working on a computer vision based AR system for intelligent cars. His goal is to pursue a Ph.D. in computer vision with special focus on practical applications such as augmented reality and robotics.

About the Award

The Rackham International Student Fellowship assists outstanding international students who have successfully completed one year of graduate study. Nominees must have a strong academic record, and demonstrate outstanding academic and professional promise.
