EECS Graduate Student Instructors Earn Awards for Teaching Excellence

The EECS Department held its annual Graduate Student Instructor (GSI) / Instructional Aide (IA) Awards Ceremony on April 30 to honor top student instructors and aides for their remarkable service and excellence in teaching. ECE and CSE Associate Chairs Dave Neuhoff and Scott Mahlke hosted the event and introduced the awardees.

During the event, Profs. Neuhoff and Mahlki shared their thoughts and read excerpts from student evaluations of the honorees. The 2015 award winners, and the courses they worked with, were:

  • Aramis Alvarez - GSI Award for EECS 311
  • Reed Coke - GSI Award for EECS 183
  • Mark Dong - GSI Award for EECS 215 and 430
  • Mark Isaacson - IA Award for EECS 482
  • Rahul Jha - GSI Award for EECS 485 and 492
  • Jonathan Kurzer - GSI Award for EECS 452, fall and winter terms
  • Shaobo Liu - GSI Award for EECS 478
  • Kwesi Rutledge - IA Award for EECS 216
  • Brian Tierney - GSI Award for EECS 411
