Semiconductor Device Physics and Design, recently published by
Springer, is written by Profs. Umesh Mishra (UC Santa Barbara; briefly at
Michigan 1985-1987) and Jasprit Singh. This book, written for undergraduate
seniors and graduate students, addresses issues in modern device design from
the point of view of physics, material properties, application needs and
technology challenges. In addition to covering traditional devices, it
addresses new devices based on nitride technologies, examining new physics
of polarization in these materials. The book also provides insight into
optimizing device designs for various applications. These insights will be
valuable for students as well as engineers in the field.
