Ho-Am Prize in Engineering
The Ho-Am Prize was founded by Kun-Hee Lee, Chairman of Samsung, in 1990, in honor of his father, the late Byung-Chull Lee, founder of Samsung. It is awarded to a domestic/abroad ethnic Korean who has made outstanding contributions to the development of science and culture and enhancement of the welfare of mankind. It is the highest honor bestowed to Korean origin engineers and researchers.

IBM Faculty Award
The IBM Faculty Award is a competitive worldwide program of the IBM Austin Center for Advanced Studies intended to foster collaboration between researchers at leading universities worldwide and those in IBM research, development and services organizations; and promote courseware and curriculum innovation to stimulate growth in disciplines and geographies that are strategic to IBM. To qualify for this internationally competitive award, the nominee must be a full-time professor at an accredited university which has a Ph.D. or MBA program in the nominee's field. Candidates must have an outstanding reputation for contributions in their field or, in the case of junior faculty, show unusual promise.

The A. Richard Newton GSRC Industrial Impact Award is an annual award given by the MARCO/DARPA Gigascale Systems Research Center that recognizes research that is at least five years old and has had significant industrial impact. The award honors the innovative career of the late A. Richard Newton, former Dean of Engineering at UC Berkeley and founding director of the GSRC center.
