U-M Distinguished Faculty Achievement Award

This award honors senior faculty who have consistently demonstrated outstanding achievements in the areas of scholarly research and/or creative endeavors, teaching and mentoring of students and junior faculty, service, and a variety of other activities which have brought distinction to themselves and to the University of Michigan.

CSE faculty who have received the U-M Distinguished Faculty Achievement Award are:

 

U-M Distinguished Graduate Mentor Award

To honor and encourage the considerable efforts and accomplishments of faculty who consistently serve as effective mentors of doctoral students, the Rackham Graduate School has established the Graduate Mentor Awards for tenured faculty from any discipline. The successful mentor serves as advisor, teacher, advocate, sponsor, and role model, ensuring that the experience of dedicated scholars and artists remains accessible to the full spectrum of graduate students. Recipients have demonstrated a commitment to fostering the intellectual, creative, scholarly and professional growth of their graduate students.

U-M Distinguished Service Award

The Distinguished Service Award honors an individual who has provided distinguished service to the University and to the community.

U-M Distinguished University Innovator Award

The annual Distinguished University Innovator Award was established by the Office for the Vice President for Research at the University of Michigan in 2007. The award recognizes the recipient's important and lasting contributions to the economy by moving new innovations into the private sector for public benefit, and by demonstrating entrepreneurial success.

U-M Elizabeth C. Crosby Award

ADVANCE at the University of Michigan awards the Elizabeth C. Crosby Research Fund to help meet career-relevant needs of women scientists and engineers.

U-M Faculty Recognition Award

This award honors substantive contributions to the University through significant achievements in scholarly research and/or creative endeavors, teaching, advising and mentoring, and service to the University.

CSE faculty who have received the U-M Faculty Recognition Award are:

 

U-M Henry Russel Award

This award is conferred annually to recognize mid-career faculty who have demonstrated an impressive record of accomplishment in scholarship and/or creativity, as well as their conspicuous ability as a teacher. The Henry Russel Award is meant to acknowledge their accomplishments and encourage their potential for even more notable achievements in the future that benefit the University community.

U-M Henry Russel Lecturer

The annual Henry Russel Lecturership is the highest honor given by the University to a senior faculty member and recognizes an outstanding career in research, teaching, and service.

Tech Transfer Excellence in Innovation Award

The University of Michigan Technology Transfer Department presents this award to individuals who successfully transfer technology to industry or education.

U-M Office of Technology Transfer Inventor Recognition Award

CSE faculty who have received the Inventor Recognition Award are:

 

Michigan Society of Fellows

The Michigan Society of Fellows, under the auspices of the U-M Rackham Graduate School, was established in 1970 with endowment grants from the Ford Foundation and the Horace H. and Mary Rackham Funds. The Society of Fellows emphasizes multidisciplinary interaction among faculty throughout the University. Senior Fellows are U-M faculty with national reputations as distinguished scholars who are selected by the President of the University.

U-M Sarah Goddard Power Award

This award was established by the Academic Women's caucus in memory of Sarah Goddard Power, a former regent who was a strong advocate for women within the University. Its goal is to honor faculty members (including instructors, lecturers, primary researchers, librarians and curators) and senior administrative staff who have made significant contributions to the betterment of women at U-M and globally through distinguished leadership, scholarship or other activities related to their professions.

U-M Undergraduate Teaching Award (formerly Amoco Undergraduate Teaching Award)

The University Undergraduate Teaching Award honors faculty in the early stages of their careers who have demonstrated outstanding ability in teaching undergraduate students. Nominees must have an evident commitment to students, a record of innovation in teaching and learning, notable dedication to working effectively with our diverse student body, and a consistently positive effect on students' intellectual/artistic development.

U-M UROP Faculty Recognition Award for Outstanding Research Mentorship

The UROP Faculty Recognition Award for Outstanding Research Mentorship is given by the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program and recognizes faculty who have made significant contributions in mentoring undergraduate students through the program.
