Lee Boysel, entrepreneur and private investor in start-up companies, will discuss the untold eight-year transition from vacuum tubes to the microprocessor as told from the perspective of the recent U-M graduate with a burning desire to become an entrepreneur. Tips and insight for today's budding entrepreneurs who want to make their first million will be addressed.

Biography

Lee L. Boysel is a private investor based in San Francisco. For the past 25 years, he has been actively involved as advisor, investor, or board member of a number of high-tech startups. Mr. Boysel served as founder, president, CEO, and chairman of the board of Four Phase Systems, Inc.. The company’s computers featured the first semiconductor memory and first LSI CPU. Both of these innovations were forerunners of today’s microprocessor chip technology. Four Phase was founded 1968 in a garage and grew into a major corporation (610 on the Fortune 1000) before being acquired by Motorola in 1982. Mr. Boysel earned both bachelor and master of science degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan.
