About the Event
Abstract coming soon.
Firas Khasawneh received his Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Jordan Univsersity for Science and Technology in 2004, his Masters degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2006 and the PhD from Duke University in 2010. Professor Khasawneh was an assistant professor at SUNY Polytechnic Institute from 2013 to 2017 before joining Michigan State University as assistant professor in 2017. Prof. Khasawneh's broad research interest include studying dynamical systems with nonlinearities, stochasticity, and time delays. These studies include examining sensory signals (for example from additive and subtractive manufacturing processes), using innovative tools from topological data analysis, and machine learning. The objective of these investigations is to classify and predict the system behavior in order to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of these processes.
