Course Description: Generation of forces and torques in electromechanical devices. Power electronic drives, motion control. DC machines. AC machines, surface mount permanent magnet machines, induction machines. Applications examined include electric propulsion drives for electric/hybrid vehicles, generators for wind turbines, and high-speed motor/alternators for flywheel energy storage systems.
