Yahoo! Hack U 2009 at CSE

On March 17-21, 2009, Yahoo! held its first Hack U at the University of Michigan. Hack U, designed to get students to think about web technologies and encourage interaction, learning, and creativity, was a week-long event that took place in the U-M's Computer Science and Engnieering building.

During the week, Yahoo! evangelists and technologists visited and addressed eight CSE and SI classes. Evening seminars on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday covered Yahoo! and open technologies, and the week ended with a Friday/Saturday 24-hour "hackathon," from which nine student teams emerged to present their "hacks" to a judging panel composed the Yahoo! tech team as well as CSE's very own Elliot Soloway and Jeff Ringenberg.

The Michigan Daily covered Hack U and wrote a story on the event and the winner.
