Faculty Positions in EECS

The EECS Department at the University of Michigan has two divisions: Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). Each division has its own faculty search committee and its own hiring priorities. Both divisions have open faculty positions. These committees will coordinate when considering faculty applicants whose interests span the two divisions, and such applications are welcomed.

Qualifications include an outstanding academic record, a doctorate or equivalent in computer engineering or computer science, and a strong commitment to teaching and research. Candidates with a focus in the areas of artificial intelligence, security, computer vision, and cyber-physical systems are encouraged to apply. However, all computer science and engineering applications will be considered.

Qualifications for junior or senior faculty positions include an outstanding academic record, a relevant doctorate or equivalent, and a strong commitment to teaching and research. The EECS department is nearing completion of a major addition to its nanofabrication facility, providing state-of-the-art facilities for faculty applicants in nanoelectronics and MEMS. Applicants with expertise in power (control or electronic aspects) can leverage university-wide initiatives in energy research. Other areas of particular interest include VLSI systems (including those based on post-CMOS devices), embedded / real-time signal processing, computer networks, computer vision / multimedia, robotics / autonomous vehicles, and related areas of computer engineering.
