Collaborative and Social Computing

Research Areas -> Interactive Systems -> Collaborative and Social Computing

Overview
We are in the midst of unprecedented social media use. My research focuses on collaborative technologies (including social computing) and increasingly pervasive (ubiquitous) computing. My group is currently working on topics such as privacy; ways to find people; new collaborative interfaces for reusing informal information; user control in pervasive environments, especially using other people’s activities as guides; and socially-based health support. Past projects including systems for routing questions in online communities, information distillation, and online community governance.
