Reading Group and Seminar on Theory of Quantum Information Processing

Fall 2014 Meetings: Thursdays 1-2:30pm, 4941 BBB (2260 Hayward St.)
What is this about?

What is the ultimate information processing power that Mother Nature provides? Can quantum computers solve classically intractible problems super fast? How to optimally compress quantum messages? Can we achieve communication security without trusting the quantum devices used? Those are some of the big questions we study in quantum information processing. We welcome you to join this interdisciplinary group of students and faculty for our weekly reading and research seminar. No prior knowledge on quantum mechanics is required.
