UMIPS is organized by process technology and by function. Each macro is classified as either pre-silicon or post-silicon verified, and instantiated or not, per the definitions that follow.

Pre-Silicon
The IP macro has been designed and simulated. In some cases, the macro may have been fabricated, but not yet tested.

Post-Silicon Verified
The IP macro has been designed, simulated, fabricated, and tested. Results are included with the macro.

Instantiated IP
This metric determines if the component has been developed into a larger design. Instantiated components have been through at least one design cycle and thus the deliverables have been utilized for development, which indicates the repository deliverables are adequate for design.

Students, faculty, and researchers may browse non-proprietary descriptions of each IP macro. GDS, netlists, proprietary descriptions, and other files are stored securely. A username/password pair can be obtained by request from the UMIPS development team.
