I completed my Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in Dec 2010. I was advised by Prof. Kang G. Shin , and worked in the Real Time computing Laboratory. I have joined Juniper Networks at their headquarters in Sunnyvale, California.

I also received my M.S.E. degree in CSE at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Prior to graduate studies, I was Member Technical Staff (Server Technologies group) in Oracle Corporation at their India Development Center in Bangalore. I received Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in CSE from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur in 2004.

Experience

•  Graduate Student Research Assistant (GSRA) in Dept. of EECS (CSE Division) at University of Michigan. [May 2006-Dec 2010]

•  Research Intern at NEC Laboratories America. [May-Sep 2008]

•  Research Intern at Philips Research North America. [June-Aug 2007]

•  Member Technical Staff at Oracle Corporation. [July 2004-2005]

•  Co-Instructor of summer term course "Data Structures & Algorithms" at IIT Kanpur. [May 2004-June 2004]

•  Intern in Dept. of Computer Science at National University of Singapore. [May 2003-July 2003]

Interests

I enjoy designing, implementing, and engineering software systems. I am interetsed in the areas of Distributed Systems, Networks and Cloud Computing. As part of my Ph.D., I conducted research in the area of Computer Networks, with emphasis on quality of service (QoS), context-awareness, and heterogeneous coexistence in mobile/wireless systems and services. My work involved algorithm/protocol design, software prototype implementation, testbed-based analysis & evaluation.

My Ph.D. dissertation is on the upcoming Dynamic Spectrum Access technology, also known as White-Space Wireless Networking. Thesis: Enhancing Coexistence, Quality of Service, and Energy Performance in Dynamic Spectrum Access Networks.

Personal

I love outdoors and go for hiking/trekking whenever I get a chance. I play racquetball regularly. I was the intramural racquetball champion in both singles and doubles tournaments for the year 2010 at the University of Michigan. I also like to run. I have participated in several 10k runs, including the 10k in Dexter-Ann Arbor Run, 2010. Recently, I completed the San Francisco Half Marathon (first half), 2011, with a finish time of 1:58:30.
