For the three summers in between my undergraduate semesters I worked as an intern at VI Engineering in Farmington Hills, MI. VI specializes in data acquisition and test engineering. My work there involved programming in LabVIEW as well as designing and debugging custom electronic hardware.

I have been involved with free-lance construction and carpentry since I was in late high-school, running a full time operation in the summers before college with a friend and several hired hands. I do full basement refinishing, decks, roofs, electrical work and finish carpentry. I still take on a job every now and again.
