Mac OS X Links
Software
- Quicksilver: Quicksilver is an application launcher, desktop search engine, and so much more. It's like Spotlight on steroids. It's hard to explain Quicksilver's usefulness, but once you try it, you'll wonder how you lived without it.
- Firefox: Safari is actually a decent web browser, but I prefer Firefox because of the wide variety of plugins that are available.
- Bibdesk: A Mac OS X frontend for BibTeX.
- Papers: Mac OS X application for storing, organizing, and searching scientific papers--"your personal library of science."
- Advanced searching in Papers
- Author search: author_name[au]
- Title search: title_keyword[ti]
- Publication-type search: publication_type[pt]
- TextMate: My preferred text editor for Mac OS X. Supports a number of programming and markup languages, including C(++), CSS, HTML, Java, Javascript, (La)TeX, Perl, PHP, Python, Ruby, and XML.
