Attendance policy

I do not believe in making grades contingent upon class attendance, whether it be through an attendance policy or through the selection of homework or exam questions. University students are responsible for their own learning, and if they can learn the material on their own without attending class, then so be it.

Undergraduate teaching

I believe that all aspects of undergraduate coursework should be connected in a unified and consistent way. This means that the textbook, the lectures, the homework, and the exams, should all essentially cover the same material, although the presentation style or approach may differ from one aspect of the course to another in order to accommodate different learning styles.
