Ephemerides

Ok, I finally got around to posting some Indianapolis pictures, as I promised last time. It was fun, we had dinner and played arcade games at Jillian's (though there aren't any pictures of that) and hung around downtown. We also went to Steak 'n Shake, the midwestern chain known for their good burgers, woo! Though I didn't actually have a burger that time. Then the next day when Wes went to work, Jenny and I went to visit the Indianapolis Speedway, which was cool. The Indy 500 was that weekend so there were some teams setting up their cars and doing laps around the track and stuff.

Anyway, since then I've also driven to Madison, WI and back, and then to Niagara Falls and Toronto and back. So my car has put on something over 2000 miles in the past month. It's over 90K now, so it's time to do some maintenance.

Speaking of Niagara Falls and Toronto, I will eventually get around to putting up pictures that Jenny took of those places. I think I'd like to redo my photo album system, since I wrote the current scripts and layout over 2 years ago and they kinda suck.

Happy belated birthday to Allan, who turned 25 yesterday!

7 days until I go home to LA!

Quick update because I haven't updated in a while, and I'm gonna be out of town for a few days starting tomorrow.

First, a couple of weeks ago, Jenny and I went to visit Wes in Indianapolis, which was fun. Jenny took a few pictures, and when I get back I'll post them and comment some more.

Second, I went flying on Tuesday for the first time since last December! It was cool getting reacquainted with flying. I found that it's kinda like riding a bike -- you don't really forget. (At least the physical act of flying. I did have to review some of the knowledge stuff the night before.) My instructor said I'm close to where I left off, so that's good, hopefully this summer I'll finish it off and get my license. Of course this sorta depends on how long my money lasts...

But it was nice to get back in the air. We did some turns, slow flight, and stalls, and practiced some landings. Some of them were pretty rough but the last landing of the morning, back at Ann Arbor, was one of my best yet (which admittedly isn't saying that much), so that was encouraging.

Anyway, we're driving out to Madison, WI tomorrow for a conference... be back next week!
