CURRENT OCCUPATION

I am a post-doc in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) department at the University of Michigan. My supervisor is Jeff Fessler and my research deals with statistical approaches to motion correction in Positron Emission Tomography (PET), with applications to lung cancer treatment. In the course of this work, I have also been developing a fairly broad convergence theory for Majorize-Minimize (MM) algorithms (also called iterative majorization or optimization transfer).

PREVIOUS  OCCUPATION
1998-2000: I was a research assistant in the MINERVA Optimization Center at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. There, I worked as part of the PARAPET project. The project's aim was to develop a C++ software library for practitioners and algorithm developers in the field of 3D PET (Positron Emission Tomography).  The work of PARAPET has evolved into the open source library STIR (Software for Tomographic Image Reconstruction) .
