Here is the ranked list of participants in the Invitational Round of the 2008 NACLO. Congratulations to everyone who participated. Just getting to this round is a very significant achievement. Note that, according to the rules announced earlier, we used the score in the Open Round as a tie breaker. That is why Anand Natarajan is ranked fourth and Jae-Kyu Lee is ranked fifth, even though their scores in the Invitational Round were the same. We will be contacting the top students via email. The top 4 will be invited to USA Team 1, while the next 4 will be on Team 2, pending funding. Alternates will also be contacted in the event some of the top eight students are not able to participate on the US National teams. The NACLO team or teams will represent the USA at the International Linguistics Olympiad (ILO), to take place in Bulgaria, August 4-9, 2008. The following website describes the venue for the ILO: http://www.sunnybeach-bg.com/web/index.php?lang=en Getting in the top 8 is truly amazing (top 1%) given that 763 students participated in the first round.
