Welcome to the NDRWeb

The NDR group at the University of Michigan is actively conducting research in diverse areas of VLSI systems design, VLSI testing, VLSI circuits, and VLSI layout automation. We are part of the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department of the College of Engineering. The group is headed by Professor Pinaki Mazumder. Current research thrusts are in the areas of

  1. High-speed CMOS, III-V Semiconductors, and Quantum MOS Based Circuit Design Techniques.
  2. Tools for Circuit Simulation, Interconnect Modeling and Design Optimization
  3. VLSI Layout Criticing Tools Capable of Analyzing Layout Failures due to Fabrication Faults and Alpha Particles
  4. Layout Compilers with Built-in Self-testing and Built-in Self-repair Capabilities
  5. Memory Testing and Repair Techniques.

The above projects are performed as collaborative efforts with several companies including Compaq, Hughes Research Laboratories, Texas Instruments, Raytheon Systems, NEC, NTT, etc. and are funded by DARPA, US Army Research Office, National Science Foundation, Office of Naval Reserach, and several other organizations.
