Starting in the Fall of 1998, I will be offering a new course, entitled, "Introduction to Quantum Electronics," (EECS 420). This course is in response to changes in our undergraduate program. EECS 420 will give the students an introduction to quantum mechanics, material science and quantum statistics. It is a highly application-oriented course. Basic concepts are developed and applied to a series of problems from modern technology. Problems are chosen from electrical engineering, chemical engineering, medical diagnostics, manufacturing science, etc.
