VMware -- Running Windows 98/NT In LinuxThe VMware virtual platform allows multiple virtual machines, each with full fault and security isolation, to run concurrently on a single PC. This means that by using this commercial software, you can run the full version of Windows98 or WindowsNT (or both) in Linux! I have installed it on my machine, and it works reasonably well with the Mach64 X server. As one would expect, it is definitely noticeably slower than running Windows 98/NT natively on the I7k, but it is bearble if you only need to use Windows occasionally for Quicken, that MS Word/Excel document that a colleague sent you, or other windows-only programs. If you are using my kernel from method 2 in the Free X Server section above, then you will need to follow these steps to get VMware to work:
