What is DTFL?
DTFL is a comprehensive interactive program which allows
time-frequency concepts to be explored thoroughly and tested
on one's own data. The program uses the Matlab engine and
features a number of menus, sliders, buttons, etc, which
allow a very flexible and comprehensive analysis of
time-series data. Critical functions are provided in
object code for speed. In addition, utility programs
are provided for command line and batch oriented production
processing of a large number of files.
Availability
Applications are being taken for beta testing. Software will
be provided at a reduced price during the beta testing period
with advantageous upgrades when the full release is offered. At
present DTFL is available for most UNIX workstations, HP, SUN,
IBM RS-6000, DEC, SGI. Within a few months we expect to offer
Windows and Macintosh versions. The software is available via
the University of Michigan/Software Sales in the Technology
Management Office.
Motivation
This software is being made available due to the strong interest
in the technique, which has been reported in numerous papers,
lectures and a 3-day intensive course every year in mid-August
at the University of Michigan. All royalties will be returned to
the project to support further development of the software
package and to provide rapid responses to users who are using
the software, concerning specific use of the software.
Graduate students in the group will be
available for these needs and will be compensated via the
funds resulting from sales.
