Students: I am looking for strong students who are interested in computer
networking, in particular network security/forensics, network
systems/applications, and network management. (Please contact me at

My area of research is networking with an emphasis on Internet
routing, routing security, and network measurement. I am interested
in understanding improving the robustness of infrastructure services
such as routing, DNS, search engines. My work involves both empirical
data collection and analysis, as well as the design and implementation
of new systems.
Here are some of my ongoing projects:
- Network management for enterprise and ISP networks.
- Malware characterization and deterrence.
- Intrusion detection systems.
- Routing plane and data plane interaction: happy packets.
- Routing protocol models, attacks against routing protocols.
- Sensor networks for patient monitoring.
