How do I add the Xerox 5675 copiers to my Mac OS computer?

Before we can install the new printer, we first need to download drivers for it. To do this, open your web browser and go to http://www.eecs.umich.edu/dco/files/drivers/drivers.php. On this page, select ‘Workcentre 5675’.

Now, click on ‘Mac OS X Driver’ to start the download.

Once the download completes, the installation utility will start automatically.

Repeatedly click ‘Accept’ and ‘Continue’ until prompted to enter your password.

Once the utility completes, click ‘Close’.

Now, we can start the printer installation by opening ‘System Preferences’ from the Apple Menu.

Once it opens, click ‘Print & Fax’.

If you already have the old copier installed, simply click the ‘-‘ button and then click ‘OK’ to delete it.

Now, click the ‘+’ button to create a new printer.

Once the dialogue opens:

Once all of this has been done, click ‘Add’ at the bottom of the window.

On the next screen, simply click ‘Continue’.

You should notice that ‘priv3817’ now appears in your printers list. Now, exit System Preferences.

Open Safari (or another browser), go to any website, and then open the ‘File’ menu and select ‘Print’.

When the print dialogue appears, select ‘priv3817’ as the printer and click the ‘down’ arrow next to the name.

This will open the full print menu. Now, in the drop down box that says ‘Safari’, choose ‘Accounting’.

Now, select ‘Xerox Standard Accounting’ from the ‘Accounting System’ drop box.

And, finally, choose the ‘Use Default Accounting Codes’, enter your Account ID in the box labeled ‘Default User ID’, and click print.
