Before we can install the new printer, we first need to download drivers for it. To do this, open your web browser and go to http://www.eecs.umich.edu/dco/files/drivers/drivers.php. On this page, select ‘ColorQube 9303’. On the next page, select your appropriate operating system, select 'save file', and click OK. Find your download in the downloads dialogue, and double click on the file. Select 'Extract all files'. Click 'Browse'. Select 'Desktop'. Add the word '\drivers' to the end of the file path and click extract. The required printer drivers should now appear in a folder on your desktop. Now we can go ahead and add the printer. Start by opening the Start Menu and choosing ‘Control Panel’. Select 'Devices and Printers' Now, create a new printer by selecting ‘Add a Printer’. This will launch the ‘Add Printer’ wizard. On the first screen, select ‘Add a local printer’ Now, we need to create a new printer port. Select the ‘Create a new port’ option and select ‘Standard TCP/IP Port’ as the type and then click ‘Next’. Enter ‘priv3313c.eecs.umich.edu’ as the printer name and ‘priv3313c port’ for the port name and then click ‘Next’. Windows may say 'Additional port information required'. Simply ignore it and hit 'next'. Now we need to specify what driver to use for the newly created printer. On this screen, select ‘Have Disk’. When the dialogue appears, click ‘browse’. In the drop down box, select ‘Desktop’. Now, double click the folder on the desktop that contains the drivers you extracted earlier and then click ‘Open’. Once the dialogue closes, click ‘OK’ to continue. On the next screen, select ‘Xerox ColorQube 9301’ as the model and click ‘Next’. You may name the printer whatever you wish. Most people leave the default name as 'Xerox colorQube 9301 PS'. Click 'next' Choose the ‘Do not share this printer’ and click ‘Next’. Now click 'Finish.' However, we aren't quite done yet. Go back to the 'Devices and Printers' menu, and right click on the new Xerox ColorQube we just added. Select 'printer properties' When the dialogue appears, open the ‘configuration’ tab and click the ‘Accounting’ button. In the accounting window, choose ‘Xerox Standard Accounting’ from the drop down box. Enter your account number in the 'default user ID' section. Click okay, and then click apply. This concludes the tutorial. If you have any additional problems, please contact us.
