The goal of our project was to use the MPC823 to implement a home/lab monitoring system. The system uses an ultrasonic distance sensor to monitor the arrival or departure of people from our lab station, and greets them with a 'hello' or 'goodbye' based on which direction they are going. It attempts to keep track of the number of people around the lab station, and displays this each time someone arrives or departs. Finally, we implemented a voice recognition system using analog and digital circuitry. The system is able to distinguish two different words, and respond back to the person accordingly.
