• I compute the weighted sum of the exams and problem sets.
  For the relative weightings, see the introductory handout.
• I rank-order the weighted sums from largest to smallest.
• I look for GAPS in the rank-ordered sums and used them as boundaries.
• I assign grades to each cluster of rank-ordered scores between the gaps.

COMMENTS ON THE ABOVE PROCEDURE:
• Ensures no one is only a few points from getting a higher grade.
• Undergraduates and graduate students will be treated separately.
• The maximum possible score is: 100+100+100+100=400 points.
• A couple of students with scores in gaps were treated separately.
