Grade Assignment in EECS 451
HOW GRADES WERE ASSIGNED IN EECS 451
I compute the weighted sum of the exams and problem sets.
For the relative weightings, see the
introductory handout
.
I rank-order the weighted sums from largest to smallest.
I look for GAPS in the rank-ordered sums and used them as boundaries.
I assign grades to each cluster of rank-ordered scores between the gaps.
COMMENTS ON THE ABOVE PROCEDURE:
Ensures no one is only a few points from getting a higher grade.
Undergraduates and graduate students will be treated separately.
The maximum possible score is: 100+100+100+100=400 points.
A couple of students with scores in gaps were treated separately.
