Interests in Time and Frequency Estimation

Alfred Hero has been interested in time and frequency estimation for over a decade; his 1984 Princeton PhD thesis was in the area of time delay estimation. These estimation problems are non-linear and arise in a very large number of applications including: active and passive radar and sonar, digital communications, array processing, direction finding, time-of-flight metrology, and MRFM.
