This project was chosen because it combines the three
favorite things of every EECS student: hardware, software,
and alcohol! In addition, this project offered a good
opportunity for many of the ideas taught in this class
to be rolled into one given the vast amount of hardware
incorporated into our design. Our goal was to create
a project that would automatically mix and serve a
number of preprogramed drinks, as well as allow a
"manual mode" which would allow users to
create custom mixes as well. To achieve this project
a group of four members was formed: Ron Brockmiller,
Eric Moore, John Walsh, and Charles Whiting.
Tasks were initially divided as follows:
| Ron |
Eric |
John |
Chaz |
- DC Motor
- Software
- Project Website
|
- Stepper Motor
- LCD
- PIC microcontrollers
|
- Numeric Keypad
- NES Controller
|
- Solenoids
- Sensors
- H-Bridge

In
reality though, all members of this group worked on
a wide variety of task not initially assigned to them.
It was largely a group effort to produce our final
implementation of the Automated Bartender as opposed
to a collection of individual tasks simply placed
together. The overall structure of the Automated Bartender
was largely a group effort as well and not assigned
to a single member.
