Abstract

In recent years, the explosive market growth of portable communication devices has driven the need for small, integrated RF circuits. In this project, we propose to design a CMOS Low Noise Amplifier for RF front-end applications in FM radio. The targeted frequency band lies between 88MHz and 108MHz, and challenges will involve implementing the design for minimum power consumption while maintaining satisfactory gain and dynamic input range over the desired frequencies. A 2.5V power source will be used to reflect the voltage available in most portable radio devices. Input and output impedances will be matched to 50 Ohm. The design will be realized with a 0.25um CMOS process.
