Cow book = Database Management Systems by Raghu Ramakrishnan and Johannes Gehrke Third Edition
 
Watch out for small changes -- make sure you have looked at a recent version when preparing for class.
The fourth column in the table below will link to notes for each lecture, approximately the morning of each lecture. Pl. visit this page prior to each lecture, and print out the notes to ease your note-taking burden in class.
The last column in the table below will link to a self-evaluation homework for each lecture. Pl. make sure to work these problems as you go along to test your understanding. I will be happy to give you feedback on any solutions that you turn in. Pl. allow one week for me to get these back to you -- in particular, I will not be able to do a whole bunch of these in a rush the day before an exam.
