Alfred Hero - Interests in Image Processing

My interests in image processing have been in the following areas: edge detection; partial differential equations in active contours and image segmentation, automated target recognition, word spotting and character recognition; spline modeling of object boundaries; quantum limited imaging; shape estimation; image indexing and content-based retrieval; and analysis/optimization of fundamental resolution/sensitivity tradeoffs.
